En los últimos 25 años, el panorama cinematográfico ha cambiado radicalmente, impulsado por el auge del streaming y el dominio de los blockbusters de superhéroes. Sin embargo, en medio de esta transformación, algunas películas han logrado mantenerse como referentes.
Para identificar cuáles han dejado una huella duradera, más de 500 directores, actores y profesionales del cine de todo el mundo participaron en una ambiciosa encuesta. Se les pidió que eligieran sus 10 películas favoritas estrenadas desde el 1 de enero del año 2000.
El resultado es una lista con las 100 mejores películas del siglo XXI, elaborada en colaboración con The Upshot. Entre los votantes hay nombres de gran prestigio, como los directores Pedro Almodóvar, Sofia Coppola, Barry Jenkins y Guillermo del Toro, junto a reconocidos actores como Julianne Moore, John Turturro, Mikey Madison y Chiwetel Ejiofor.
